Reading Challenge – all ages!

September 1-30, Dallas County Library will participate in “NASA’s Artemis Project: To the Moon, Mars, and Beyond!” reading challenge, sponsored by the Space Science Institute.

We challenge our patrons of all ages to read at least 600 Minutes (just 20 minutes a day) and keep track of their reading during the challenge on the Beanstack site,

Hundreds of libraries across the nation will be reading and learning alongside us for a chance to win backpacks of STEM-related resources from the Space Science Institute (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math).

The Space Science Institute will award the backpacks with STEM-related resources to top performing libraries based upon:

  • Number of registrants in relation to population size.
  • Percent of those enrolled who participate throughout the challenge.
  • Total minutes and/or books logged in relation to total population and total participants.
  • Community sharing; everyone spreading the word about the program, including virtually.

Contact the library at 417-345-2647, for more information.  Happy reading, Dallas County!
